I've been watching my diet a lot lately. I almost never eat dairy products anymore, and I try to eat as much raw food as possible. I've been really inspired by the wonderfull Mimi Kirk, who I just discovered (look her up!). I still eat eggs though, so I'm not to be considered vegan, although I've been a vegetarian for a long while now (at least 6 years!) and it's really important for me, for various reason. I don't like arguing or talking much about it, because I get all sorts of crazy reactions, and in the end it is something really personnal. Anyways, I've just been more carfull about my health lately. I'm also thinking about quitting smoking after my birthday, god it sounds hard.

Here are some random pictures I took. First one is because my dog was bitten by another dog. Her paw was bleeding a little. It was the first time I saw my dog bleeding, I was a bit shocked. Her paw is fine now, luckily.

Clinique foundation

Soooo I've been using this foundation a while and I really like it! I started having problems with my skin a year ago. I'm currently taking antibiotics and it's pretty cleared up for now (still have some scars though). I have not broken out with this foundation and only heard good reviews!

Yesterday night the wind was so strong. It banged against the windows and growled through any opening. I was sick, feeling distracted, as if my whole body was on slow motion. Still, I went outside for a cigarette. My street was deserted and the trees shook. The power lines swang above my head.

What impressed me the most were the clouds. They were gliding so fast in the sky. They looked like fishes, whales, sea monsters. A car came runing down the street and I swear that for a minute I thought it was a racing the clouds. And the wind blew against my back so strongly. It felt solid, like a body pressed against mine. And I felt so small, so small.

I had my hair dyed! Before it was a dark brown with a little plum in it. I wanted a more natural brown. It's a little more red than I expected but oh well, I'll fix it next time. In, the last picture, it's me without make up (well okay, let's pretend foundtation is not make up hahahaha, I mean obvious make up). I look four years old.

Violent dreams

I'm starting school tomorrow and I'm ready for this last semester in litterature. Lately, nothing really new happened. I cathed back on skins (I had stopped at season four.) The new cast is alright. Not the most interesting but I still really enjoy it. They have a really good soundtrack. I recognised CC, Radical Face and other artists that I like.

Also, I moved my bed before christmas but I kept having wierd dreams. I dream that I was on a murder scene, that I kissed people I would rather not kiss, that I was the only one to notice that there was a gorilla trying to pass as a student. The worst dream was the one that I drowned (I'm scared of water). Every morning for a while I felt restless. I moved my bed back to where it was today, I'll let you know if the dreams stopped.

I had the most lovely time yesterday <3 I went to panda bar with friends. We drank at my place before hand and to be honnest I was almost sick on our way there, in the taxi. The driver smelled like men's cologne. I usually like it when people smell outrageously like perfume, and I did at first but later on it made me feel nauseous. When we arrived everything was a lot better, and we started dancing right away. I was pretty impressed with the music, they played a lot of cheesy 80's song, which I'm a sucker for. I don't think I sat down once, I was really into it. I had a delightfull time with amazing people.

Also, I finnally signed up for fashion design. Let's send me positive thought for this, would you?

I got my agenda hurray! It's a little ordinary and really simple but I found it really classy. It's really small and covinient, maybe a bit more than the one I had last year. I baught very cute stickers and decorated the inside (I'm 10 years old, seriously). The two cat ones reminded me of my own kitties, I had to use them haha!

I'm still in vacations for a few days. I've been taking it pretty easy since I was a little sick. I got my macbook in the mail and transfered all my stuff in it. I guess I'm going to get rid of my old computer, but I'm still reticent to do it for some reason. It's ridiculous how we get attached to stuff sometimes.

Cosmo is horribly silly sometimes, but it's still a guilty pleasure (just like those cookies, as a matter of fact!)

Ugh I hope it was better than mine! All my plans failed myserably and I ended up quite sad. One of my friend showed up at my house with her boyfriend when I had resignated myself to be alone for the countdown. It was a nice last minute surprise for 2011.

I guess I could have been sad or pissed at a lot of people but in the past last year I've learned some really important lessons and now I know better. I think of this night as my last test of 2011, which was really the year with the most change ever. I know things like this don't matter now. You can be really mad or really sad and cry and screm all you want it will never change anything. You need to take things as they come, it's useless to react largely to situations you don't like, and I think learning this was my most precious acheivement for this year.

I'm very glad for this year. I did a lot of new things, met a lot of new people and had so much fun. I hope for the next year I'll hold one to precious lessons I've learned and continue to welcome life and it's ups and down.

Silly resolutions (might or might not keep them hahaha) :

- Maybe do something new with my hair? Lighter brown?
- Continue to eat healthily as much as I can.
- Continue to work out more and more
- Go to a drum studio and see if I'm still able to play!
- Sign up for fashion design studies
- Get a job!
- Boyfriend (hahaha not so sure about this one)
- Less time one computer (it's a bit ironic to be writing this on my blog no?)

I hope everyone had a great christmas! I saw a lot of very dear friends and spent time with my family! I don't have much family in my country, but still. I'm exepcting to receive my macbook (mom's present!) very soon. I'm very attached to PC's but I want a laptop that will last me a long time, so I decided to go for a Mac, even if I find them a bit too user friendly sometimes.

I got a few other cute presents. Lavender and hand and feet lotions, stawberry milkchake shower gel, a cheesy porcelain cat and more! Also, my lovely friend Florence gave me the most beautifull, girly glittery, Betsey-like, dress I've ever owned <3<3<3 I'll take pictures soon!

Hate never fixes anything

You'll never get anything good by saying things like "people are stupid", "people are selfish", "society is crap" and stuff like that.

Seriously, I hear it a lot from really good people that I love, but I just can't agree with this kind of thinking. By thinking thoughts like this you actually put up walls between you and the world. You stop yourself from finding good stuff in other people, and you probably are less likely to want to help them or do anything good for them.

If people do bad things it's not because they are stupid and mean or that they would just love to see the earth explode in front of them. It's most likely that their life experiences or their way of thinking is pointing out this action as a good action to them. Yes, this doesn't exclude the fact that they can totally cause harm around them, but in this case it would be because of unconsciousness, rather than being a horrible - or stupid - person. I know some people do harm just for the sake of it and cause suffering for pleasure (murderers, rapists, animal abusers, etc) but they are rare cases. It doesn't make everyone hostile, terrible people.

Saying that most people are stupid or bad people is just a way of making it easier for yourself to accept the fact that they do actions you do not agree with. It's much easier to dislike a whole person or group of person, rather to accept that they can be decent individuals even if they do things that we don't like. By saying these things you are giving up on what is good in the person, you are only looking at the negative side of things, and that is never going to make you a better person, or them, or anyone. It's not going to make the world a better place, for anyone, especially not for you.

Putting walls between you and other people, being closed to them, judging them, giving up on them by saying that "they are just stupid anyway" or "they are just selfish anyway", will never make anything better. If you are unhappy with the world and how people are, if you hate how society works, then the best thing you can do is to start realising that most problems come from the fact people are so hostile and separated to each other. By radically judging everyone and giving up on them, you are contributing to the hostility there is between people.

If you think things should change, then start by giving people a chance. Try to encourage what is good in them, or at least not judge them. Most people, even if really different from you, are probably really decent people that want to do good. Try to give them a chance. Try realising that the best option we have as a society, specie or whatever is to try to be opened to each other. Try to do that first step yourself. Do not encourage and feed negativity around you. Try to give the positive a chance, even if it means accepting that people you really dislike are maybe not so bad if you look deeper. They are most likely not aware of the bad things they are doing, and classifying them as bad people will never do any good.

C'est familier. Le monde est qu'à moitiée là. Ou peut-être que c'est moi. J’ose espérer que c'est le changement de saison, et que ça va passer après. Parfois j'en ai assez de me sentir fragile, de sentir que n'importe quoi suffit pour réveiller le petit monstre dans ma tête. Et faire des pieds et des mains pour le rendormir. Le tenir, le bercer, le serrer, l’étouffer. Dans mes bras, contre ma poitrine. Faire de mon mieux pour me rendre compte que les cris dans ma tête ce ne sont pas les miens. C'est ceux de mon cerveau, quand j'arrive pas à faire le vide, quand j'arrive pas à arrêter de penser. Quand je me rend compte que je pense trop et que j'me met à penser qu'il faudrait que je pense moins. Être constamment en équilibre sur le bord d'un trou noir. C'est familier et ça laisse un léger gout de comme-avant.

Daycamp is over! I had a lot of fun this year. It took me a lot of time to get used to the rhythm of life one needs to work with children 40 hours a week. Before I started I was in vacation, which means I was undulging in a crazy barely-eating-always-out-drunk-everynight lifestyle. I had to calm down and make more reasonable choices. These are some pictures I took (not all of them because I don't was to post a picture where you can see a child's face)

This year I was mainly with children from 3 to 4, which was really demanding. However, one of the last weeks I was matched with an autistic kid to help him do activities and be included in the group. He was really living in his own world, but I think (and have been told) that I did a pretty good job inviting him in our reality. At the end of the week, he would speak more to other kids, run around, laugh, volonteer for some activities and participate without me having to push him that much. It was really a rewarding experience, and kinna made me consider a new path for a career. That last picture is a chalk drawing we did together. He wrote the alphabet and I did the silly drawings.

I have a friend visiting from morocco! She left to live there a while ago, and she came back to visit for the last couple of days! It was a lot of fun to remember highschool time we spent together. Putting make up in class, wierd sleep patterns, experimenting all sorts of stuff and not realising how wreckless we were. Sometimes it amazes me to think about all the stuff I did during my teenage years. But I guess it was a good thing because now I consider myself pretty responsible. Time goes on and it's amazing to see what we have become.

It's summer, I'm not working for an other couple days. I still have time to waste in the most shallow, careless ways. I used to think that being a worthy person was all about strugling and living deep, intense things. I know now that it's okay to be impulsive, to do small talk, and to be so terribly typical. In fact accepting to do the most casual stuff took me a lot more courage than dealing with any big issue.

I want to do what ever the fuck I want and if that makes me shallow then I'll be the biggest stereotype and it won't matter.
